Dear Jane by Rachel Ward

Friday, August 19, 2016

The plan was to serve a mission, marry her boyfriend, and live happily ever after. But all of that changed when Quinn got a Dear Jane email. Now she's stuck at home with no boyfriend, no job, no major, and absolutely no social life. Will Quinn ever find the path that leads to her eternal happiness?

Goodreads Summary

We all hear about Dear John letters, but not usually Dear Jane letters. Quinn's never suspected that her boyfriend was dating someone behind her back while she was on a mission. She finds out three months before the mission ends that her boyfriend she though she was coming home to is getting married. That's pretty horrible. It was easy to hate her ex. When she is home, she is aimless. She doesn't have a job and she doesn't have a boyfriend. Her family life is iffy due to her aunt and brother. When she does get a job, she doesn't like a certain guy there...

Quinn's character was nice enough. I liked how she seemed sort of oblivious to reality, at times. I liked her perseverance and unshakable faith. I couldn't imagine how I would hold it all together if everything that happened to Quinn hit me all at once. It was interesting to watch her character grow. She started to get used to being back home and everything that came with it. Overall, the book was a fun read.
