I think it would be amazing to experience synesthesia, but I would want it to eventually end. Nikki lives in a world filled with color. Certain emotions are connected to specific colors. Her life is fairly average until she has to ID a dead popular girl from her school. She can't fathom why her number would even be in this girl's phone and doesn't know why it involves her. She utilizes her synesthesia to help her solve the mystery and takes the reader along with her.
Nikki's character was interesting. I liked that she was interesting and had the synesthesia. I thought that she put herself down too much. I did like her determination and how she took things into her own hands. I used to love Nancy Drew as a child and did like how this story reminded me of when I used to thumb through those books. The slight romance was intriguing and a nice touch, but not necessary for enjoying the book. Overall, this book would be ideal for young adult/teen readers.
