Piper is an interesting character who salvages from meteor storms to survive. Her father recently passed away so Piper shoulders the burden of living on her own. She discovers a young girl, Anna, who has lost her memory, but needs to go somewhere. Anna bears the mark of the Dragonfly Territories and must be helped home. Along the way, Piper learns that she must discover how to trust people regardless of how something seems.
My favorite part of this book was the constant magical feel underlying the plot. I really savored the characters and scenes. The descriptive, elegant way Johnson writes was a pleasure to read and I can't wait to pick up another book by her! Piper's character became like a friend to me. I grew to like her scrappy, optimistic character and hope that she would be able to get Anna home safely. Anna's character was intriguing because of her memory loss. I can't imagine what it would feel like to be in her shoes. This book is perfect for teens and young adults!
