Cinder and Ella: Melissa Lemon

Sunday, June 5, 2011
After their father’s disappearance, Cinder leaves home for a servant job at the castle. But it isn’t long before her sister Ella is brought to the castle herself—the most dangerous place in all the kingdom for both her and Cinder. Cinder and Ella is a Cinderella story like no other and one you'll never forget.

Good Reads Summary

A unique twist on a classic Cinderella novel, this book will keep the reader entertained the whole time.  The main characters are well-developed by the author and fun to read about, the reader will be rooting for them the whole of the novel.  The story develops quickly; the reader will appreciate the author’s intricate, added details of the descriptions throughout the book.    There is a little something for all readers:  mystery, intrigue, a little fanciful romance, and action.  Young teens can relate to the main characters, feel as if she could step into Cinder or Ella’s shoes.   The secondary characters are fairly well-developed, the more malicious characters could have their characters more detailed and explored.   The reader will be pleased with the ending.  I would recommend this novel to young teens/teens who enjoy classic tales from their childhood.
